Elena Helgiu is a junior at Harvard University studying psychology and economics. She has taken a year off in Buenos Aires and has been working at INECO since February 2012. At INECO, she has been involved in two major projects, among other activities such as translating materials and attending conferences. She has studied the effects of institutionalization in young children on empathy and emotion. Her other project involved co-writing a review of ERPs and their implications as new methods in social neuroscience. Elena was born in Romania and moved to New Jersey when she was 8 years old.
